Who holds your details

Bluebell Ices does. If you have a question about your information, or you want it deleted, contact them at hello@ontheround.co.uk or 01295 000000.

This website is provided by On The Round, who hold the information on their behalf and do nothing else with it.

What is collected, and why

• Your name and phone number, when you place an order — so the order can be made up for you, and so they can reach you if there is a problem with it.
• Your email address, if you choose to give one.
• Anything you type in the notes, such as an allergy or where to meet you.

Orders are kept for 12 months and then deleted.

What is not collected

• No cookies are set by this site.
• There is no advertising and no analytics.
• Your details are never sold or passed to anyone else for marketing.
• Your device is never asked for its location, and the map does not know where you are — it shows where the van is.

If you asked to be told when the van is out

You can ask this site to message you — either about a particular stop, or about your own postcode. Nothing is stored unless you ask for one of those.

• An address your browser generated, so the message can be delivered to it. It identifies the browser, not you, and it is issued by your browser rather than chosen by us.
• Which stop you picked, if you asked about a stop.
• Roughly where your postcode is, if you gave one — rounded to about 110 metres, which is enough to tell you the van is close and not enough to say which house. The postcode itself is not kept; it is looked up and discarded. The outward part of it (for example OX16) is kept so the site can show you which subscription you have.

There is no name, no email address and no account attached to any of this.

You can stop at any time, and it is deleted rather than switched off: press Stop on the site, or Stop telling me on the notification itself. Turning notifications off in your browser also ends it.

The map

The map pictures come from On The Round’s own servers. Your browser asks us for them and nobody else, so no other company is told which map you are looking at — we see those requests and they go no further. The streets are drawn from OpenStreetMap’s data, but your browser never contacts them. The van’s position is added by your browser afterwards.

Your rights

You can ask Bluebell Ices for a copy of what they hold about you, ask them to correct it, or ask them to delete it. If you are not happy with how it is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
